Sosicoin, I went offline for 29 days, since I burnt myself out and had other things going on in my life, so that didn't help. Luckily, I am back now. Just have to be careful not to stress myself out. Sometimes you just need a break.

That's a nice example! What could it have been struck through? Fiber or wire bristles?

@spruette001- I have no idea.
@E&V- I think I'm beyond burnt out. I've looked at so many coins I'm seeing doubled dies, rpm's and other errors in regular everyday objects..lol

I'm thinking this is a planchet defect.

On the planchet before it was copper plated and even before it went through the upturning mill.

Maybe excess metal that may have come off when getting punched out of the sheet of zinc? And it is deep enough the upturning mill didn't obliterate it along the rim when the proto rim was formed before plating.
Words of encouragement are one of the major food groups.
We need to consume them regularly to thrive and grow.

Or gunk that fell off the edge of the die and landed on the area of the planchet. I've seen this before:
