1942 D Wheat Penny Weighing 1.85 Grams?!?

The ear seems angled different to me. The placement of the D seems closer to the date. Ane thats just on the front. Report this Post to the Staff
JimmyD Bedrock of the Community Canada 21633 Posts	Posted 12/11/2019 07:50 am To the Forum. Your coin appears to be acid etched which would reduce the weight. Usually the rims are the first to get etched away as in the case of your coin. Not really an error as it was done after the coin was struck. coop Bedrock of the Community United States 62064 Posts	Posted 12/11/2019 09:57 am Always look at the rims when you suspect an acid dipped coin. Note them on this coin. Note how they are almost non existent? That is the first clue for these coins. Even silver coins can be affected with acid: Report this Post to the Staff
