I am really only buying slabbed coins and trying to assemble some higher grade examples. Your observations helps me with grading. I am getting a bit better with my pictures. I am free to grade my example, raw, in hand, with a 10x loupe just as the TRGraders should do. I have stood on the bridge in Balboa Park looking East at the tower and the dome. For the pictured coins, San Diego: I see a small but noticeable nick on Minerva's right bodice (cover over right boob) MS-65 Wisconsin: I see same thing - a small but noticeable nick on the rump of the badger. MS-65 For both coins, the plastic makes it a bit hard to determine if the other tiny marks are on the coins or on the plastic. Report this Post to the Staff
