1946 D LWC..obverse And Reverse Damage

It looks like parts of the reverse die were stamped on the obverse. I can see 2 letters stamped around the edge of the reverse over to the obverse and through the field. At least thats what I think happened. Could someone clarify if they know what actually is happening here
