There is a seller on ebay who does the following. Slabs coins bought (CCGS) but does not say they are third party graded. He offers a 7 day return policy and honors that policy. The only tricky part is he says in his ad :Please I am not an expert grader and I list the coins in the grade in which I purchased them, unless I have doubts. If I have any doubts about the coin including condition, dings, scratches, blemishes, I will for sure note them on the page. I am honest guy and I want you to be happy with what you buy from me. I sell only Items I do not need for my collections and use the money to buy the coins I need
Am I being to critical or is this an ok guy to deal with?

I have never heard of CCGS, buy the coin, not the slab.

If he honors his return policy, there should be no problem.

The only problem I see is when people have to say they are honest, most times thet are not.

CCGS could be Collectors coin grading service or Certified Coin grading service and are considered to be self-graders or first party graders. You buy the slabs and insert your coins, and grade yourself. As said above, buy the coin for itself.

I think a healthy amount of skepticism is good here. My take on self-graders is they do it to give authority to their grade, whether they admit it or not. And I've never seen an instance on ebay where these guys undergrade a coin--it's always to make the coin appear better than it is (imo).
