I know the area of interest to check for doubled dies on State Quarters is the ear but I seen this and compared it to several other quarter of same year & mint and none look like this. And this particular year isn't listed in Wexlers list. The first pic is a regular Quarter. The second pic is the one in question.

Check other devices on the same side of the devices. I feel it is Machine Doubling. It appears to flat shelf like. (I see nothing listed on Variety Vista or Wexler's site)

Yeah I didn't see anything either on wexler's website. I will get you a much better picture and an extreme close-up

Try rotating is a bit to let the light fall over the ear. (but not spotlight light it)

I did & EAR you go lol (sry I had to)....the first 2 are the ear lobe in question. The 3rd has what looks like an extra toe. The 4th is the letter "T" & the 5th is the letter "E". The 6th is just the full reverse & the last one is the bottom half of the number "5"
