A pocket change find from last year. Curious how you would grade it.

I don't know how many coins you have in your collection or how you store them, but if you have your 2x2s stacked or filed in a "case" best to flatten down those staples with a pair of pliers (staples might cause scratching/damage)

Tough to judge/grade through the clear film of the 2x2 (best to remove for photos)..IMO MS-63/4

I've been collecting for about 10 years now, but within the last year I've gotten really serious about some of the finer details involving grading, expanding to learning more about errors/varieties, and focusing more on nickels. I've got a couple thousand coins mainly stored in 2x2's either in generic albums for my sets, or in cardboard boxes. So I have a lot of stuff to go through. It's really exciting to go back through everything I've kept and really understand them better. Certainly finding some that make me wonder why I kept them in the first place, but not too many

Thank you for the advice. Unfortunately I learned the pointy staple thing the hard way early on, not from coin damage but from damaging the plastic on my albums. I always keep a wide blade flat tip screwdriver at my workbench to smash 'em down before storing.

Would love to know what your thoughts are on the details assertion, T-BOP. Gouge between the E & S on the reverse/scratch patterns on the obverse?

I can't read the obverse, I think the mylar on the holder is showing things that aren't there.

Looks to be 64-65RD.
