Drove by one of the few brick and mortar coin shops left in the lower mainland today, saw the windows papered over...

google reviews saying that Bill is gone & will be missed.

It was a challenge getting to know him, grumpy old bugger! But once I was "in".. I was in.

Thank you for sharing your knowledge & your stories, and thank you for letting me back in the store after kicking me out for low-balling you (only happened once - lesson learned!)

Yes rest in peace Bill Foot you were a little crusty, but I understood being an ironworker as Bill was an ironworker welder in his earlier years of his life. As for being told to leave I saw him do it to a few people and like mentioned he had lots of good stories and good deals if he liked you.

His store and he as well will be missed a small store but full of treasures.

A great friend and colleague . Certainly one of the old guard .
When you first met him gruff and rough and tumble come to mind .
After you got to know him , one of the kindest , funniest people you
could ever meet . Bill was always kind to young people and many
times I saw him give coins or stamps to them.
Rest In Peace Old Friend , you will be Missed !

Just found out today about his passing as I am looking to buy silver ounce bars.
I spent many days with Bill at his store when I lived in Langley. Loved his stories and he would give me great deals. I loved his one-liners "If you believed that story, I have a bridge to sell you in the back".

I never got tired of his jokes, even though I heard the same ones over and over :)

Very sad to hear about his passing. My condolences to the family. He would speak about his wife and children constantly and loved them dearly.

Didn't know him at all but I can relate to the 'old grumpy' type, but once you made friends, you were treated right, as I have known a few here in Ontario.

RIP.

I saw him at the coin shows when they were held in Vancouver Oakridge Mall. Everytime I would be at his table, he reminded me of the Soup Nazi, like the guy from Seinfeld, but for coins, the way I saw collectors haggle with him. He'll be missed and certainly a memorable dealer.
