Have not used this site in over a yr but last time got plenty of help...hope that can happen again.

Got this medal in a box lot from Heritage Auctions. Comparing it to authentic pieces online, it looks like the real thing but sure could use advice from more knowledgeable collectors.

Please let me know your thoughts.

Authentic or not that is a pretty intense image on the obverse I definitely like it. A size and weight if possible would help the members here on the forum authenticate it.

This one may be a tougher question to the forum than most . From what I have found so far is there was up to 12 different restrikes of the medal in different metals between 1976 and 2005 Meaning it will take someone with expertise with this specific coin to give you a definitive answer I will still do my best to solve this riddle because it's what I do.

PCGS says 47.5 mm don't see nothing for weight a lot of restrikes are eliminated because alloys don't match yours appears consistent with an original strike in appearance in my opinion. Even the restrikes are going for ok money. You may be better off asking if anyone can grade it from what I have seen then you can suppose it is a restrike and figure that out value wise for a possible grading submission hopeful it's an original strike.
