Santa gave me these for Christmas. I did a little research and the Maximilian's might be gold but I don't know the diagnostics for it. Either way they are some of the most interesting coins/tokens I have seen in a while.

@nohope, from what I understand, the old ones are gold or gold plated, but not the newer ones. Here is an interesting CCF thread where these were discussed in more detail:

thanks for the thread link the weigh in at 0.6 grams but I doubt they are gold I think they were purchased from a junk store for 50cents
