Hello,
Are there online Coin Shops/Dealers? Where can I find these and whether or not they are honest and reputable?
Thanks, Rich

You can get some links and stuff from the on-line auction forum section of this board. Most of the e-bay dealers and such have ebay/amazon stores or such. Also check out the people that advertise here and help keep this site running.
Do a search of all forums on a particual e-bay seller or other online seller. People keep a pretty good list of good sellers and bad sellers on here.

goldeneaglecoins.com, coinland.com, ebay the best but be aware of fakes.

Same question comes up a lot. The problem with such a question is what someone had good luck with may not work for you. Also, you don't know if the person recommending a place may actually work there. Then too some people just use a name they read somewhere of a good dealer. For example I've seen people recommending a place as great and I know for a fact they sell over graded, cleaned coins and charge excessively. Sort of like asking which car is the best, which person should I marry, who has the worst mother-in-law, what stock should I buy, which finger should I pick my nose with. Any answer may not be correct.

I just bought a few coins from David Lawrence rare coins and I really liked their website. I have not received the coins yet but so far I think I will buy from them again.

Hello, When buying from an online coin shop how can I be sure the coins are really what they say they are? I was at an online coin shop hat offered a coin birth year frame and a complete set of single proof coins from the year I was born for $35. Sounds too good to be true, how do I know if it is or not? Also, I'm having trouble navigating ebay stores, any suggestions? Thanks, Rich

snitchard, If the age in your profile is correct, a proof set from your birth year is not very expensive at $10 or so. An extra $25 plus S&H for a frame is a bit pricey so what is the too good to be true part? I have no doubt that the coins would be legitimate, although they would be contained in overly expensive presentation. As far as reputable online dealers I have done business with- http://www.harlanjberk.com/http://www.jjteaparty.com/http://www.earlyus.com/There are others I deal with too but those three have pictures for almost all coins listed and they also carry average collector-grade coins(<$100) in addition to more expensive ones.

I've had excellent luck with GRcoins.com. I've never bought online from APMEX.com but have stopped by their store before. was pleased with the results.

I too have used David Lawrence and was happy with the service and coin. You might want to also check http://www.angeldees.com I met the owner at a show and have always gotten good, honnest service & I have been happy with the coins I have bought from them. However, their site has no pictures and you have to e-mail or call in orders.

Also never hurts to check https://www.bbb.orgMany if not most reputable dealers are registered with the BBB and/or with PCGS, NGC or ANACS. These are not guarantees, but a dealer who has been a member of one or more of the above groups 5+ years is usually going to be a reliable dealer. And, of course, get to know the good people here as the information and advice is priceless .

I have used Dick Osburn Rare Coins, Allens, VT coins and Jakes Marketplace. I have been very pleased with all of them.
