Hello all,
Recently found this 1997P quarter with what looks to be a round indentation in George's face, with a small variation on the reverse of coin. Just wondering how to label this error, and such.

it's just damage. When you see an incuse or dented area on one side, turn the coin over. If you find an area that is bulging out exactly opposite, it's almost always damage. The round, distorted area on the eagle's wing shows that this happened after the coin was struck.

Closet collector since before I could talk(hence the Pop-pop's girl name, since it was he that taught me the beauty of coins) Now that my own children are grown~ I am taking the time to look at all of my 35 years of hidden gems:) Sooo much fun to be able to truly spend time on this love!
