Dont know if edge lettering uses planchets like obv. Rev. Process. Can someone confirm what this error would be called? Or would it be considered damage. Ether way, info appreciated.

It looks like you have it in a plastic container. The plastic is making the images out of focus.
Can you remove it for clearer images?

It is hard to tell if it is PSD or something else.

Oh yeah, that's right, it came in a mint set.

I wouldn't remove it until others chime in and you can make that decision from other input. I'm not a dollar collector so not really sure about the possibilities for this one.

Is the strip embedded in the coin or is it on the surface?

Its a part of the coin, it looks like an edge plancht or die broke and tore into this one. The crack/gouge looks like it was struck so hard the pressure split the coin rasing the edge enough that it was then snagged during the ejection process. Just a guess. It travles from obverse to reverse, the former being more predominant.

I wonder if this isn't some sort of strike through debris maybe. Could you get a picture of the affected part of the obverse with the coin shot straight on, not at an angle?

A better angle? And a shot of the reverse straight on, not tha it helpa much. Taking hogh quality photos can be a challange, but through reflective, distorting plastic is... not fun. Doing the best I can with what I got
Thank you again for taking the time to take a look and give you 2 cents

I think it is a damage caused during the edge printing process, slivered part of the metal in rotation.
