Currently I have an example of most of the known doubled ear Lincoln cents, but have been missing 1944 WDDO-020 (aka 1DO-016). It's pretty strong and figured it would come around soon enough.
Just going through a roll of EF-BU 1944 coins and hit a nice doubled ear. Coin has a few flaws, but was happy to finally nail this one. Then I started going in for the details.
The coins I've got has doubling that pretty well matches WDDO-020 on the ear, but also has a strong doubled eyelid north which is not mentioned in that listing (or on Coppercoins). Also a bit of doubling below the Y in LIBERTY is visible.
So I've checked everything I can think of to check and nothing matches. Compared every die marker available on the similar coins and not a match. So either a new one or a different die stage of WDDO-020 and they jut forgot to mention the strong eyelid (which sadly is not in the frame on any of the photos of that variety).
Likely this one will get sent off to Dr. Wiles
