The annual Silver Dollar show is here again, at the St. Charles Convention Center next to I-70.
Free admission, 100-150 dealers, hours are 10am-6pm and Scotsman Auction Co will be running a live and Internet bid auction on Friday night. For the first time, this show is being held in conjunction with the National and World Paper Money Convention.

Surprisingly, both shows were kind of dead I got there at about 10:30 and probably 1/4 of the dealers were gone already with many others starting to pack. However, I must have over prepared and had really good luck because I managed to find everything I wanted and spend almost all of my $300 budget in about 2 hours and I am the kind of guy that can wander around a bourse floor for five or six hours. I managed to fill all of the post-1940 Washington quarter slots in my Dansco(five coins to go) and I upgraded a couple of slots in my 7070- a nice 1853 Half Dime w/arrows and the big money coin for the day, an 1812 Capped Bust Large cent. I was not even looking for that coin but once I saw it, I could not pass it up especially when the dealer who was already packing up lowered the price to make one last sale. I also got a free sample of NGC's new edge viewing slab, complete with a Missouri quarter

I will put the Half Dime and the Capped Bust in the grading section later this week when I get some pictures.
