I had a lot of problems getting a Half Dime into there, had to push a bit with a tissue (was careful not to push too hard, for fear of it bending). Then when I put the plastic cover back, it slid out of place, and kept going back and fourth....any other albums that are more friendly to small coins and keep them more in place? Because I still gotta fill up the rest of my Half Dime types, and this is going to trouble. |

I have not had any problems with my Dansco albums, including the 7070. Are you saying the coin was difficult to get in, but once you got it in it was loose?
None of the coins I have in my 7070 were difficult to insert; and the only "loose" coin is one of my large cents (but I have read that the large cents had some variation in the diameter).

Yeah basically.... It was stuck either far back or far forward, never in between. Then once I got it in it slid all over the place. I don't mean just slid around in the hole, like actually slid OUT of the hole.

Ouch!  That is very odd. My 7070 is about fifteen years old now. I wonder if their QC has changed over the years?  |

All of the coins fit perfectly. My new one is pretty crummy compared to the old one. Several of the slots are either too big or too small. I'm sorry I sold the original album. |

I am glad I have resisted upgrading my albums to newer ones with more pages for the more recent modern issues (I opted to just create separate custom volumes for them). I did replace three of the older binders a few years back, otherwise they are all in great shape.  |

I'm a Whitman Album person myself but that problem is common on almost any company's Albums. Not all, just some. If you could find another one you would probably not have that problem. Like any mass produced product, there is always that odd ball slip up. Same with coins you know. I have had that same problem with Whitman Albums and not most but just a few. And not all different denominations. For example I have 12 Mercury dime Albums and in the #6 one most of the coins are very loose and if handled a lot the coins start to turn a little. I have well over 100 Whitman Albums and that same or similar problem is with about 3 of them. In the past I've had some where the hole was to small and some to large. Just modern mass production. |

I have several Whitman and Dansco albums. I have just one, the Whitman 20th Century Type Set album, in which all the holes are too big. Every time I open it, the coins have twirled around a bit more.
But it could just as easily have been a Dansco or a Littleton. Just got a "funky" one.....

I have had that problem with large coins, such as half dollars. If the coin is not absolutely tight in the hole, it can slide between the clear plastic slide and the part of the album between the holes. Not too much concern if the coins are circulated, but if they are uncirculated or proof, ouch. I have also had the problem with very small coins such as the Three Cent pieces. What is the solution? I wish I knew and if someone knows, please share the solution. |

I've never had any problems with my Dansco albums. Could just be a bad page.

Pour glue on the coin prior to placing the plastic slide in place. Force two coins into the same slots.  When to small I use a larger size coin to sort of hone out the slots. Place in and turning should make the hole a bit larger. When the slot is to large and the coins move, not much could be done. A new page could be ordered from Whitman, not sure if Dansco does that. Purchasing another Album should work. I've never thried this but I wonder if a complaint sent to the manufacturer would work? |

I have had some problems with my new dansco as well. It isn't that my coins don't fit it's that the backing that it supposed to be glued on securely everywhere except where the little sliders come out, isn't attached around the edge of the coin hole. SO the coin actually slides from in the hole to down in between the paper and the coin frame area.
Did that make sense? I's not exactly early for me but my brain just won't cooperate. (looks like a 4 coffee wake up session kind of day!)
