We found this quarter and wanted to gain insight on if this is an error or simple wear. It looked off to us and when on the side, appears to be both copper and silver, right down the middle. The eagle seems to be missing the breast feathers and parts of the the wings. The rim is oddly high and the whole coin seem thicker. Thanks for the assistance!

To the Forum.

Always show both sides of the coin when posting.

It looks to me to be an early stage Dryer Coin.
(Enter Dryer Coin in the search box at top of sidebar for more info.)
It would be classed as damage.
