Am wondering if this is double die or wear and tear. The "IN"in IN GOD WE TRUST runs together. And close to that area the rim or edge of the quarter seems to be doubled..

Hi Moke, welcome to the forum. This is indeed just damage the coin has suffered during circulation. The arcing scratches that run through IN and the date are commonly caused from a coin rolling machine.

@moke, first welcome to CCF. Second, I agree with @oij that you have circulation flattening on IGWT and damage along the rim.

Pretty much extreme coin wear and circulation flattening. If there were a doubled die there, the damage would nullify it. (Been through a lot of vending machines/coin wrappers/counters. Looks like it spent a lot of its life going down a slot.
