Sometimes when I click on a link, such as a new topic, uploading pics, changing forums etc. The page doesn't move. It says waiting for https://www.coincommunity.com on the status bar, but it never goes through. So I have to hit stop and try clicking it again. If you sit there and wait for it, it will go through but it takes 30-90 seconds for it to go through. I have cable modem, use firefox, and run vista. This is the only site it does it to me on. Any suggestions? Thanks!!

I have noticed some recent sluggishness on CCF as well, so I do not think it is on your end.

Yeah, there is some sporadic sluggishness this morning, not 30 to 90 seconds though. I'll look into it.

The "rattle this change" figure at the bottom is the actual server processing time for the page. Anything above that is the result of any of 100s of different things beyond the server.

I have noticed this phenomenon when I lurk the forums while I'm at work, but it rarely happens here at home; I assumed it was an artefact of the download restricting software used at work.

My processing times here are 95% of the time under 1/10 of 1 second, usually between .03 and .06 seconds. 99.9% of the time under 3/10 of one second.

This morning I'm seeing 4-6 seconds sometimes.

Around 10 AM EST is the database server backup time and for the last few days it has been causing some slowness. Backup is ongoing right now, so that is the cause for the current random slowdowns.

I'll see if we can improve this.

I just got this message:

Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers error '80004005'

[MySQL][ODBC 3.51 Driver]User coincom2 has already more than 'max_user_connections' active connections

/forum/inc_header.asp, line 134
I seem to remember the rattling the cage being a very low number. It's almost as it is getting "hung up".

Sap, you could be running through a hardware firewall at work. That could certainly be the difference.

Yes, I've been having the exact same problem...about 5 PM, when I get on for the first time of the day.
