I assume my granddad gave me this coin, but I can't find out what it is.

It is 1 troy ounce of .999 silver. The obverse has the Liberty Bell with "Proclaim Liberty thoughout the land". no mint is mentioned.

The reverse has a scroll with "We the People" on it and 1973.

It is definitely not the Oral Roberts coin that looks similar, and I have not been able to find one picture of it on the internet. Thank you for any help!

No idea. I tried web surfing and came up with nothing. Probably some aftermarket company.

Hello I have the same coin. Did you find anything out? I think it could unfortunately be fake. Mine also says 1 troy ounce however it weighs 33.2 grams. Please let me know if you find out anything. Thanks

Hmm that does seem quite a bit heavier than the 31.1 g that it should be. I assume it isn't attracted to a magnet, is it?

Also, welcome to CCF @jvz.

This is a Deseret Mint 1oz silver round from Salt Lake City, Utah. Struck in 1973, there may be a serial number along the rim notating it as proof. I have been studying this shop for a long time, and knew as soon as I saw it! Here is an old newspaper article with the original ad selling it.
