As I continue to educate myself, I'm curious in regards to 1964 proof sets and value.
1. Is it better to sell as a complete set or break out and sell individual coins?
2. If breaking out to sell individually what is the determinant?
3. And, is there a typical grade that these sets grade out at?

Thanks

Be careful with ebay as a guide. Only look at ones sold, not just being offered. Usually it is better to sell each coin separately, however, being stuck with one or two not sold too is irritating.

When you say break it out, what are you breaking it out of?

Regarding CAM or DCAM, I have not gone through all and many envelops are still sealed.

If you sell one at a time, you'd have to have pretty good luck finding people who want just a proof 1964 nickel by its self. Selling it as a set increases the chances it will sell. By selling them one by one, your, well, selling them one by one. That's 5 sales you gotta make instead of just one.

Most 1964 proof coins are PR68, while some are PR67.
Most are not cameo.

I'd definitely not recommend taking it out of the cellophane unless it's very faded or damaged. It would probably be easier just to sell the whole set together IMO
