Hello everyone. I am hoping someone can help me. I have been collecting the First Strike PCGS PR69 DCAM S month Presidential dollar coins Since they came out in 2007. But the past few years I have not been able to find them and now I'm falling behind on my collection. I used to buy them in a set of 4 every Christmas. I have up to 20015. I'm looking for 2016 to present. I have searched many online coin dealers and ebay with no luck. I really want to finish to collection. Any info will help. Thank you and happy new year. Here is a pic of the set I'm collecting.

Pretty sure 2016 was the last year for Presidential dollars. Ending with Reagan. Demand in general for those dollars dropped off. It's possible dealers just quit sending them in for the first strike designation. Since it costs extra. Look at the total number of presidential proofs that PCGS grades in 2007, roughly 16,000. By 2010 that had fallen to about 6000, and by 2016, only 4000 were graded. https://www.PCGS.com/pop/detail/pre...d=0&t=0&p=PR

There is no such thing as 2016 to present. The series ended in 2016. Once you have General R. Ford, Richard M. Nixon, and Ronald Reagan, you're done. It's 100% complete.
Why? Because then you're talking about presidents who are, for the most part, alive. In the United States, we don't put living presidents on coins. That would make the United States seem more like a monarch, like the United Kingdon where the Queen is on the coins. To avoid this, we don't put living presidents on coins.

And there are only three in 2016 not four.

Thank you for the help everyone. I just ordered the last 3 for my collection last night. It does make sense why I can't find anything after 2016 because they never made them.

I think a President must be dead for 2 years before they can be on a coin

Quote: I think a President must be dead for 2 years before they can be on a coin That was the way the authorization legislation was written, just in case one died while the program was going on. But once the program ended it didn't matter if one died they won't get a coin unless Congress passes new legislation to authorize it. (So right now George H. W. Bush will not get a coin without new legislation.)
