die polish lines, and patina is all that is at the bottom, plus some dirt or something at the rim.

These look like hits to me, I guess because I've never seen this many pronounced die gouges on such a coin. Buy hey - other opinions would help!

Honestly, 3 coins from the same roll had them in that area...not sure what they did at the mint to pull that off, but they are definitely raised if you look at the gouges.

Also the "hit" on the N of ONE on the reverse is a die scratch if you look closely also.

Nevermind, you're probably correct, I seriously didn't think those were hits till I got it under extreme magnification, not use to the reflectivity of steel, Now I just don't know lol. What threw me off was the fact multiple coins had the exact same patterning in the same spot, who knows...
