Hi all,

I have this beautiful Belgian Congo 1943 2 franc coin with a single spot of verdigris on the rim. Do you think this would end up favorably after an NCS conservation? This would be my first submission to them. My estimate is that the coin is a 65 without the spot.

I have soaked it in acetone for a couple days. No change.

Please let me know what you think about an NCS submission or about a way to remove it at home.

If it does get conserved what's the retail value? It would have to be over $300

I think the book price would be $400 for an MS65.

But, it does look like there is some corrosion on that corner, beneath the green spot. I'm not sure it would get a grade even with the green spot removed. Any ways to get it off at home without harming the rest of the coin?

KM# 25.
My Krause 2010 edition list these at $15, EF, $75 in BU.

One of the most interesting of World coins, due to it's hexagonal shap,e and unique type for a World coin, in brass.

Extremely difficult to find. I have only seen one example of these 'in the flesh'. I snapped it up when I found it. my example would grade EF.

Potential value conserved or not conserved does not justify the shipping and grading fees.
