I got the two coins below as one purchase for a couple of pounds, thinking that it would be interesting to find out what they were.

The first one, though not in good shape, had a legend that was readable in part, and appeared to be Diocletian with Moneta on the reverse. Trying to find the mint mark was the fun part, and it looked like Q and a strange symbol in the exergue. The only one that resembled it, was P thunderbolt. Am I right in assuming that what I thought was a "Q" is actually a "P"?
Two-Coins---One-Proving-Troublesome.
Diocletian AE Follis. 300-301 AD. IMP C DIOCLETIANVS PF AVG, laureate head right / SACRA MONET VRB AVGG ET CAESS NN, Moneta standing left, holding scales and cornucopiae. Mintmark P thunderbolt. Rome RIC VI 100a. 28mm dia.

The second coin is proving to be really troublesome. The legend has the ending TRPCOSVICENSOR, and searching for this only brings up Titus. (TCAESIMPAVGFTRPCOSVICENSOR)
Two-Coins---One-Proving-Troublesome.
Looking through the Titus coins on Wildwinds, there are only a few with Titus looking left, and none of then have that legend. The a few with the TCAESIMPAVGFTRPCOSVICENSOR legend are all looking right. (RIC 1245[vesp] to RIC 1284[vesp]) The coin diameter is 27mm.

Can anyone help with this one?

Thanks, Jim

You missed PON in the legend: T CAES IMP AVG F PON TRP COS VI CENSOR.
In addition, Wildwinds is far from complete, and doesn't actually have some types.

I'm not 100% sure (really far from an expert here), but I think your coin is RIC Vesp 1283: https://ikmk.uni-freiburg.de/object?id=ID976

@january1may Yes, indeed, the PON was missing in the legend. It is the coin without a doubt, as all the characters in the legend on the coin line up with the freiburg.de example.

There have been a couple of occasions in the past where a coin I was searching for hasn't been listed on Wildwinds. I had tried picture searches on Google too without any success, so am doubly grateful for the link.

Thank you,
Jim
