Today's half crown of the day is worn - but it's a very scarce date.   The 1925 UK halfcrown was a very scarce date (1.4 million) - not as scarce as 1930 or 1913 - but less of them have survived and this heavily worn (Between Good and VG) is typical of what's out there. Basically you could call this coin a semi key date. Again another "In transit" piece, but paid for and winging its way to me. Sometimes just having a rare date coin is better than waiting to get one in VF+ condition. I can still look out for the better quality coin and be safe in knowing at least I have an example in the meantime. I mean George is not much beyond a silhouette and the shield is nearing smoothness, but we have a clear date, complete inscriptions and a damage free honest looking coin!  Edited by Princetane

I only have 3 coins for 1925 Here is the 2nd - another farthing from the UK   The coin is VF and generally a nice example. There is more wear on George. |

1925 British halfpennies - old and new types. For some reason, the Modified Head and smaller reverse design were introduced in 1925 on the halfpenny. The first Modified Head pennies were in 1926 and the reverse design wasn't changed until 1927:   1925 gold sovereign. This was the last one issued by the British Royal Mint during the reign of George V. It was a bullion coin: sovereigns had not circulated since the start of World War I:  Edited by NumisRob
