French Indochina 1925, 5 centièmes. These beautiful coins were minted 1923-39 (@paralyse showed a delightful 1939 example), in copper-nickel until 1937 and 1938-39 in nickel-brass.   |

erafjel - that's a beautiful coin!  A few more World coins for 1925: Denmark 2 kroner:  Another French Chamber of Commerce 2 francs - this one has a lot of lustre still!  Australian penny. This looks much better than the photos and is toned to a nice chocolate brown color.  It's one of my best bargains ever as I pulled it from a London dealer's junk tray in the 1980s. There used to be a great shopping arcade under Charing Cross station running between Viliers Street and Northumberland Avenue - a coin dealer in the 1970s and 1980s called Amphora Coins had some huge rummage trays there and the coins cost... 3p each! Those are nice coins, 3p each reminds me of the 10c coin box I miss that was in a shop called Chalon Stamps in Christchurch around 1990. Here is an Australian Threepence from 1925   The coin is better than the usual heavily worn condition you expect from Sterling silver coins being in use in a rough and dry climate like Australia's for 40+ years. This would be better than Very Good, yet many 1910s and 1920s silver coins can be found in conditions way below Good. I have a 1910 in Fair condition and a 1910 6d in Poor condition. Incredibly the Aussie pound was only worth 16/- Sterling, yet they had sterling silver through to 1945! Edited by Princetane
