Pep has one of the nicest & most consistently high quality collections I've ever had the pleasure of viewing.

Paralyse, I agree and I would rate Dorado's coins very highly too!
But I like seeing everyone's contribution and get just as much pleasure and amusement from worn coins, copper ones, holed coins, medals and everything numismatic.

Believe it or not, I love and are immensely proud of my humble little family of coins.

Here's a darkened but still VF 1903 UK farthing.

Halfcrowns reappear tomorrow and if Mr Mailman plays ball we can go back to the 1800s with them.

France 1903, 25 centimes, the first French coin made of nickel. It was minted in 1903 only, to be replaced in 1904 by a coin with the same obverse but a different (and better looking) reverse.

No, it doesn't

But I can understand that it was considered beautiful enough to be made into a piece of jewelry. Perhaps that it is made of nickel also had some novelty value.
