This one might need an introduction as it is quite scarce. Crown of the Principality of Monaco from 1655. It is variously called a scudo, as are the crowns of its Italian neighbors, or an ecu of 60 sols in alignment with its very close neighbor, France. The reigning monarch, at the time of this coin's issue, was Honore II, Prince of Monaco from 1604 to 1662, of the Grimaldi family -- the line which continues to rule Monaco to this day.

Great coin! Indeed, through most of history the surroundings of Monaco were more "Italian" (Savoy) than French.
@j1m, good point on Wladyslaw IV. Some Polish collectors collect the Russian coins minted under his authority before he became king of Poland,(since his Polish coins are all upwards of $1,000).
For 1655, Poland 18 groszy (ort), Krakow mint.

France 1654, liard, Louis XIV, Corbeil (A).

From the pre-series, with a different reverse than the final series that were minted beginning 1655. Somewhat rare, only about 5,000 minted.

@Arkie: Your liard uses the mint mark E of Tours, but is minted in a temporary mint set up in Meung-sur-Loire.
