Quote: Very nice Thx. I just wish I was a little better at taking pics of gold. The color is much more pleasing with the coin in hand.

Like I have said a time or three, looks better than I could have done, or at least no worse.

@erafjel may have a catalog to help, but I see that Elsen and CGB both call this type (with the "secret point" at the 16th character on each side) as emission of August, 1445. https://www.acsearch.info/search.html?id=6580283https://www.acsearch.info/search.html?id=9568516The next emision is January 1447, only 17 months later. And erafjel has said it is likely the coins are stuck shortly after the ordinance. So I am good with it. And lovely coin! Interesting place, Tournai. In the 15th century it's striking coins at the behest of the king of France. 130 years later it's striking coins as Spanish Netherlands, at the behest of the king of Spain.

I was waiting in anticipation of JohnConduitt posting 1446. Since we're moving, here's my not-as-cool-as-Spence's-coin copper two-thirds gani from the Bahmani Sultanate, Ala al-Din Ahmad II, dated AH 849. GG# BH85. Goron and Goenka have this type listed as common in The Coins of the Indian Sultanates I provided a close-up of the date so you can see that it's a 9 partly off flan.

Quote: @erafjel may have a catalog to help Not really, there is not much mentioned specifically about Tournai in Saulcy's collection of monetary decrees, which often has some useful information. Tournai is mentioned in a list of mints ordered to mint ecus for the Aug 12, 1445 emission, that's it. But most likely the ecus were minted not long after, possibly in a few batches, but I think well within a year. Nice coins from all, btw!

I think this Hungarian denar is Huszar 609, 1444 B-n* minted under Ulaszlo I, who also reigned as Wladyslaw III of Poland, which explains the eagle on the reverse (will await date confirmation from Eddie Diz)

Looks like we might have a bumper crop of coins for this year, which is awesome! Here is my Groschen from the city of Trier dated 1444 AD. I have attributed it as Levinson I-74.

@ tdziemia yes you are correct. I will start with that one. 1444 B-star/n Hungarian Denar under King Wladislaus I;Huszar 609,Unger 475g,Rethy II-143A. 1444 A-B Hungarian Denar under King Wladislaus I;Huszar 609a,Unger 475b,Pohl 148-7. For the life of me I can not find the pictures for the 1444 G-W and 1444 h-PR. I guess they will pop up when I least expect it. I do have some for 1443.
