*** Edited by Staff - Linked removed because this is the seller trying to be clever and pretend he's not. probably thinks he's the first to come up with that idea too. ***

Will someone please help identify this coin error? And how much do you think it's value is? Claims to have found in uncirculated bank roll. Highly interested.

Hard to tell with those images, but it's either damage or a grease strike. Either way, definitely not worth $300. Not even close.

Certainly not what seller claims it to be. A weak strike would affect
the whole Obverse, not just around the rim.
Hard to tell from those out of focus photos, but my guess is a
partially Grease Filled Die. Value 25Cents.

It looks like a grease strike with the deep rims and hazy look to the surfaces, but it's not quite enough of an error for it to be collectible. I wouldn't think it's not worth more than a dollar or two at the most. You can find a much better coin that's been Struck Through Grease.

Here's a State Quarter that I posted back last November. http://goccf.com/t/359805
ANA ID: 3203813 - CONECA ID: N-5637 Clean a coin that may be worth collecting? Please DON'T! When in doubt, leave it dirty!!

What a coincidence. The new OP and the seller of the coin are both from
Billings Montana and as soon as the coin is "outed" the ebay listing is removed.
