Picked this coin up locally today, any help would be appreciated, I mainly focus on copper but I'll grab a nice silver piece when I see one.

Looks like a VAM-6 If you look up on VAM World under the 1878 S listing all you have to do is narrow down what you have

What you have is an Un Broken Star and Un Broken "R" in trust on the reverse. There are only a few that fit that base line. Without close up photos its difficult, but with the coin in hand you should have no problem.
