Mike689 New Member United States 2 Posts	Posted 01/18/2020 12:34 am 2005D penny looks to be double struck on the reverse. Looks like "America" reversed. Is this real? I found this 1975D with a liberty bell and usa stamp on the obverse. I have no idea what the heck this is, I've never seen anything like it. Report this Post to the Staff

It's called a counter-stamped cent, but yours has lots of other damage as well. Paint? Some people collect them, but probably not in the condition you have there. Report this Post to the Staff

Mike689 New Member United States 2 Posts	Posted 01/18/2020 2:50 pm Thank you for the warm welcome. For that first 2005D coin there's no glue. That raised area with the reverse lettering is copper. So I guess a piece of a penny chipped off on the die and it got struck on to the next penny? Is this coin worth anything? Thanks for identifying the counter stamp on that coin.I'm thinking this coin actually had glue on the reverse. If its not worth anything because of the condition I 'll just keep it.
