It belongs there. It is part of the design placed on the coins to give the impression of depth.

Sometime a worn die, die polishing or a weak strike can cause a part of those lines to be weak.

Still. It's normal.

Yup...the line is supposed to be there.

Remember also that 1973 is a one-year reverse type, so comparing 1973 reverses to any other year is comparing apples and oranges. You'd have to find other 1973 cents to compare to.
