Good Fine. As 1919 is the most common date in the series, it's probably only worth silver value in this condition.

I'll say AU-53 (Sheldon).

Interesting range of opinions.

I compared to this: https://www.coinarchives.com/w/lotv...4fff128239b8

Some of the detail in the vestments over the left shoulder and left thigh are gone, and the rim is pretty weak reverse near the 50. But a lot of the other details are in quite nice shape.

There's no way that the cited coin from Katz Coins Notes & Supplies Europe can be graded UNC. There's wear on the leaves, FRANCS, on Cere's thigh/bottom, the horizon on the left.

I would suggest comparing with coins in http://www.cgb.fr, the well-known French coin dealer, for example, this VF (TTB) specimen https://www.cgb.fr/1-franc-semeuse-...65404,a.html

I was looking for a higher grade coin for comparison, and couldn't quickly find anything slabbed with that date and design. I agree the Katz coin isn't up to an unqualified UNC.

However, I think TTB (rather than SUP or even presque FDC) is a bit of an understatement for the CGB coin.

Which just goes to show that U.S. eyeballs can be rather more generous than eyeballs across the pond

Thank you for the opinions everyone. I only paid bullion price for it. Decided to put it in a 2x2 and keep it. It is a common one but I like the example.

Weak strike on leaves, good detail on face and gown.

I would say its low VF's.
