I have a 1864 2cent Repunched Date piece. My question is would this coin be given the proper attribution at NGC as I am a member there and would send my coin to them? I've done some research and don't think PCGS would. Any helpful advice would be appreciated.

I don't think it's a repunched date. Appears to be just a bit of a worn out die.

Looks like an RPD-003 VP-007 to me. Nice find!

Thank you, if I remember correctly five years ago as I was starting out on ebay I purchased a Lot of coins and this one was one of them. Lucky me! I recently purchased a scope and was going through my coins and discovered the repunched date. Another question would this coin benefit from conservation? Thank you.

Can't tell without a full image of both sides of the coin.
But as a guess I would say "no".

Just wondering if conservation can remove the black grime around the letters and rim?

I don't know too much about conservation but I will say you have a nice full WE there! A nice coin for an RPD.
