I came upon a strange 1944-D cent with what seems to me a piece of metal that fell in during production (looks like a staple), and fell out again during circulation. Either that or it was damaged post production. What do you guys think? is there any way to tell if it is post mint damage or at the mint?

Sorry, the pic is much too small to say anything definitively and it is mirror imaged. Do you have a scanner?

Looks like a lamination which would be very common and worth no premium value...but I need a better image to tell for sure.

that's fine. I was just wondering what it was. I don't buy coins to make money, I buy to collect. :)
