A while back someone mentioned getting acetate sheets to use for replacement sliders for the Whitman albums. Since Whitman doesn't respond back to e-mails, I am looking to get some acetate, Was there a certain thickness one should be looking for?

I know companies like Whitman are rather rude when it comes to replacing those slides. I once called Whitman on the phone and explained to some lady that I needed some of those slides. She said no a normal thing but will send me a pile of them and free. She did and I ended up with about a hundred of all different sizes. You might try calling them.

Sorry , I can't help you with those . As suggested by just carl ,call or write to Whitman .Give them a sob story about how you love their albums but the plastic sleeves have since scratched and are dull looking . I did it years ago for my Lincoln Cent album and they sent me 10 sleeves N/C.

@Spence, Yes that is the thread I was talking about.

Today, I was digging around in the storage closet at work and found a box of transparency film, a little research told me is was made out of Cellulose Acetate. I tried a search for Cellulose Acetate vs PVA, to see if the stuff I found was considered archival quality. No luck on finding an answer yet will keep on searching.
