It is in an odd location for a die chip. Not sayin' it isn't but might be a die gouge or a cladding issue?

My reason for saying die Chip is that they are both slightly different
which would be consistent with the chip slowly breaking away.
If it was a die gouge, they would both be the same.
Not saying I'm right, just my line of thought.

Die chips happen most of the time on the fields/design, devices areas. But like this coin the chip fell off the deeper part of the die. We see this often on dimes.

We attribute it to brittle dies where par of the deeper devices chip away. It couldn't be a gouge. A die gouge usually only affects the field areas on the die.

Looks like your coin maybe a VLDS example? It is part of the die aging process:

You can see the die aging. (probably not an exact image process, but I used images that were available)
What I thought was an elbow, isn't.

I wish I could get a pic that shows it better... Just a small blob on top of the ladies butt lol... The die definitely appears to be aged but the chip(as it were)is well raised above the surface it is on... Crappy camera from my phone lol...
