Forgot to put this one up here yesterday. Looks like a straight G-4? Maybe a G-6? Thanks! -CH27 Collector of U.S. Coins, Varieties, and Colonial Coinage

If I squeeze it hard enough I could probably get G-04 . I'm fickle when it comes to partial dates .

Thanks T-Bop. I was hoping that when I cherry picked my next two feather it would have a full date. Unfortunately that is not the case.
However, according to PCGS, the 1917-S and the 1921-S two feathers are the two most difficult two feathers to find, so I was happy to read that.

What are the 'watermelons' you pick? High grade coins?

CoinHunter27 , I am not an error or variety collector .I am a date and mint collector , there's not many of us out there so maybe I'm a rare breed . What I said about your coin is that I don't care for partial date Buffaloes even if it is a 2 feather Nickel . And yes , I collect mid to upper grade raw circulated classic coins . We all have our different goals when it comes to our coin collection .

I could not agree more! I've been working on a Silver Washington quarter set but I am thinking of an Indian cent set. Collect what you like. -CH27

IHC gets tough for the 1870's. The 1880-1909 (except the 1908 and 1909 S) are easy to find in good prices. This was how I wanted all my IHC to look and then my wallet said no.

I hear you. The 1877 will set me back way too much. So will the 08-S and 09-S, along with some other semi-keys. Best date I have is an 1871 which is also a harder date, but it's corroded and in low grade. I have an 1867/67 S-1 I cherry-picked as well, so that would help me out too. All in all I'm no where near starting my set. It may have to wait a few years. -CH27

I got the 1877 at a really great price, but it was only a G4. The 1908 and 1909 (S) I picked up when I was taking a trip in Washington, on the way to Chateau St. Michel we found a coin shop and either it was because I'm from NJ or he wanted to get rid of them, I got them at a good price. Sometimes you can wait and other times you have to jump on it. My wife said yes. I didn't wait for her to change her mind ;) This is an old picture, a few of the below got replaced. The 1877 was listed for $350, I offered $250 and the person took it. (and yes its real, it has the faint N in the reverse and I had my LCS check it out)

Looks good! Maybe someday if I have a big enough budget I will be able to afford the keys.

I started an IHC collection quite a few years ago but stopped because of the heavy hitters in the 70's . also the 09-S . I did manage to pick up a nice 08-S in VF-25 for a very good price . Sorry , no overdates !

08-S is a very good date. I would have been happy just to have one of the keys. And in VF? That's pretty nice.
