In my opinion, these are some of the best struck coins in the series. 1959d cents are beautiful in BU condition and I love to look thru them. These 4 rolls have been sitting in a safe since the beginning of time.... and today ..i opened 3 out of 4 of them and found some very neat stuff.

Coin1.This one looks like a lamination error....but I swear that this has a wire retained in the coin....look at this and call me crazy real quick so I can quit looking at it.

It looks like coin damage because of the area where it stops, it affects the "OD" on GOD. But looking at it, it appears raised? In order for it to be raised, then it would have to be incuse on the die. So the image is telling me two different stories.

Well...in qll reality...it could be,but I highly doubt it. THE wire looks tangled up in the D in god. You can also see like....a bundle of wire in his hair

Just because they were in a bu roll don't mean they are perfect. They can have bag marks, scuffs. Look at picture # 1 and # 5 I can see where the old rubber wheeled coin counter rolled over it. As far as the line, is it raised or incised?

I don't think you want to go that far. It might require more/better photos, but given a little time (remember we're all volunteers here), you'll probably get a suitable answer. My biggest question is still as to whether the mark that runs from above Liberty NE towards God is raised on the coin or recessed. As others have pointed out, even uncirculated coins get damaged. From what I can tell, all of the marks besides the big one are just nicks from this coin banging into others before being rolled up. The mark on the reverse is too unclear for me to make a guess at, though, I should say. My inclination is that this is some sort of struck through. Are you able to determine if the area in question is slightly raised/recessed for us?
