It's a 1957 d Wheat penny but I haven't seen a error like this yet on the back on the wheat.there is a little Defect On the wheat whit a Bulge coming off the side of it

Sounds like a die crack - chip - break - or even could be a Retained Cud?

Welcome to the forum Jnice. A little blurry on the photo, but glad you managed to get over the hurdle of uploading one. It is confusing at first. I believe these are die chips in the wheat stalks. Not too uncommon and part of the die breaking down as it ages. You will probably see plenty more like this in time. Hope that helps.

But from what I can see if looks like a crack and chips forming on that area. Not a plus for value for the coin.
