Is this error and if yes, what is it? Going trough neck and feathers. Under proper magnification it looks like small lines one next to other, like a small caterpillar track across the coin. It is not due to color, it is real.

Hi,
It is not an error of any kind.

These coins are made of an alloy containing 90% gold and 10% copper. It is not uncommon on any of our gold coins for their to be streaks or specks that are darker than the gold as a result of the alloy mixture.

Thanks,
Bill
