Good Morning,

I am pretty new to Canadian coin collecting. I have coins in little plastic bags I inherited from a relative and am seeking a safer way to store them. My American coins I am in the process of sticking them into air-tite coin capsules.

My question is what is the best way to store my Canadian coins where they won't be harmed? I see from pictures people are putting them into the 2 x 2 mylar cardboard flips, do they keep them safe for a long period of time. Because I hear good and bad about those flips some safe, they will last years and others say they won't last past 6 months.

Any help and advice is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Charles

to CCF. 2x2 are safe for long term storage. Make sure to flatten the staples so you do not damage other 2x2s and the coins in them when you stack the holders.

Buy a stack of 2x2's and have fun labeling them.
I've always stored mine in 2x2's and there's no issue whatsoever. Whoever told you a 2x2 would only last six months obviously doesn't know what they are talking about.

to the forum. If you ever have questions about Canadian coins, there are lots of knowledgeable folks here to offer good advice and opinions.
