Sorry I am extremely clueless on coin errors or worth, but I have this 1941D nickel and on the back side under the building, that area that looks dirty, is actually raised up(if that makes sense). Can anyone tell me what that is from? I'm sorry if photos are bad. If you can not see it, let me know I'll try with a different camera program. Thank you.
Pretty tough to tell with the photo, but my first guess is gonna be gunk, just due to shape and the fact that it seems to be in more than one place on the coin.
The dark part is probably gunk, the the silver parts of that area are raised parts of the nickel. Maybe I should try and clean the black parts off so you can see the raised parts of that area
