I have seen many cents with roller lines in them but this one takes the cake. This 1946 P LWC shows this stripping on the obverse and reverse as well. You can even see the lines going through the devices. I can just imagine what this cent looked like when it was first minted and I bet it was amazing.

Nice example of woodgrain toning!

I don't think I've seen woodgrain toning referred to as "tiger striping" before, but it does kind of look like tiger stripes (with those particular colors, anyway).

Im still new to the hobby, so take what I say with a grain of salt, but I think they are called 'Woodies' or 'Woody Penny'.

Those are roller lines. Wood grained looking coins, "Woody's",come from improper alloy mixes. I have several of those. One other tell tale of roller lines is wherever the coin has the greatest wear, normally the high points, the roller lines disappear. On a woody, they don't.

Definitely roller lines, unusual on a cent of this age for sure.
