Hello, I am wondering what it is and the value.

Front side of thsi token has a person holding a sword it says
NE PAsse PAS

Back side a castle in between two brances. with VERDUN written at the top. 21 fevrier 1916.

There is a tiny vernier engraved on it too. Color is gold so I am guessing that it is brass.

Welcome to the forum.

The text is "ON NE PASSE PAS", which translates from the French as "one does not pass".

It comes from the battle of Verdun in 1916. General Nivelle ordered his troops "Vous ne les laisserez pas passer, mes camarades", - "you will not let them pass, my comrades".

It has been used by others. Gandalf knew his history when he fought the balrog!
