High VF details (ED, especially around Indian's mouth).

Pope's reference states that there are two obverse dies for the 2 feather variety of the 27s. Both retain a small island where the 3rd feather is supposed to be. This coin is the first die Pope illustrates in his book.

Nice two feather! They get harder to find in the higher circulated grades.

due to the displaced metal this coin probably would come back as a code 98 (no grade/damaged) if I had to assign a grade i'd be at XF40 details

Definitely detailed. Tough find, regardless of grade. There is quite a bit of die clash polishing on the other design elements on this one, too, so that masks the grade a bit. I think it runs to EF details.

Your purchase price is in the ballpark. It's been a while since I've seen a '27-S 2-ish feather. I know I haven't handled one since I went to electronic records in 2011.
