I have just emailed Lia (the new Coin/Stamp Manager) at ebay requesting another Coin Workshop. This workshop could open up some possiblities as far as getting the site cleaned up and informing collectors of what is going on.
Rest in Peace

Susan, can you tell us more about these workshops? I've never participated in one and actually know very little about them, e.g. where are they held (or are they online?) who may participate?

The workshops are held on-line and begin and end at specific times. Anyone registered with ebay may participate. Supposedly, this is an opportunity for the members to be able to voice their concerns and comments with an ebay representative answering in real time.

The last one that they held had more participating members than they planned on and they were still answering questions two days later. They had based the participation number on the number of members who had participated in the Stamp workshop. That workshop only saw a total of 8 posts. The last Coin workshop hit almost 100 in the space of 1 hour.

If the decision is made to hold one, it should show up in the ebay announcements. There should also be notification on the ebay discussion board. I'm hoping to receive an email from Lia letting me know her feelings on this. Since I just emailed her on Friday, I'm not surprised I haven't heard from her yet.

Hey Susan, I purchased a foreign coin from a Russian with a U.S. payment address about a month ago. I have since received word this individual has been given the boot off of ebay and have not received my coin. Looking through foreign coins today I stumbled onto what I know is the exact same guy with the same payment deal and almost exact wording for his auctions with a Feedback rating of 0! This good ole guy is back with a new ID in less than 2 weeks. Think I should email him, under this new identity, and ask about my undelivered coin? At least he would know WE are on to his little game!

That depends. Are you still hoping to get your money back? If so, I would report it to your local police. From there they will track down the individual.

If you are just looking to put a scare into him, I would email ebay. If you paid by Paypal, I would email them first. The things is that you may be able to get this seller locked up for internet fraud (let's remember that when it crosses state lines, it becomes a federal issue. There is also the whole "mail fraud" thing. The post office doesn't take kindly to being used for scams.

I think you have a choice. You can put a scare into him or possibly get him to answer some pretty serious charges. The choice is yours.
