Well it looks pretty old and beat up to me. IS there something specific that you are seeing with the coin in hand that makes you think that there may be a mint error?

John1, I'm using a smart phone...LG G8 thin Q. Spence, to be honest, I thought maybe because this coin was such a mess, possibly a cousin to the 83 counter clash. But I truly didn't know where to start as far as P.U.P'

Ok well nothing on the reverse looks like a mint error to me. For posting a pic of the obverse, remember that you must title the photo files with different names--sometimes that is what trips up folks.

Quote: what mode should I be utilising on my phone? sorry don't know. On regular cameras the macro setting,a tiny flower icon. I have read that those clip on magnifiers work ok. John1

I use my iPhone (I realise it's different than your setup) and I just zoom-in (with my fingers) to get macro automatically, it usually is about 5X. Play around with your camera, you'll be amazed what they can do without anything fancy. You seem close with what you gave us, just be mindful of the focus (a difficult thing to master). Fill the frame with the coin so the auto focus will zero in on the coin rather than the background. Again, your photography is close, so don't give up!
